9x12 oil on canvas panel "Summer Garden"

Man it's a hot one! I started this in the shade of a large oak tree. I had to work fast before the Sun hit me. This image was scanned-in using my scanner. I can't tell much difference from a digital photo.

Hi Wyn... I like your work very much, but being an artists myself I only "half" agree with you that Plein Air is the only way to paint. You see, I am retired from the U.S. Air Force and began painting about 60 years ago. I am now 79 years old and closer to the end than the beginning. My health keeps me indoors. My "git up 'n go" has lost too much of its "go!" LOL, So I paint from photos. Most of them my own, but lately it's been tough to get out with a camera and 'do my thing.' It wears me out big time! I paint in oil -- impasto, except for portraits -- mostly on stretched canvas -- but recently I've taken to canvas on harbord. My work is no longer for sale. I want to leave my paintings to my children and grand children. But I do take a few commisions. I say "a few" because I'm sure you are aware that too many people want 'freebies. To offset that, my work is now quite expensive. LOL. I'd like to share idea with you sometime and if you wat. just email me and I'll give you my phone number. I have long distance 24/7. Once again... excellent work. I love it! Sincerely, HJ.(Wilmington, NC)
